So you want to make a Green Screen Video!?
Complex video projects can be created quickly and easily using green screen technology. Avoid the struggle to find the right location at the right time. Green screen technology works by allowing us to separate the layers of video. We can replace the green background with another image or video. We can also insert animations, image windows, or even create a split screen effect. The GEMS Innovation Lab regularly uses the green screen to produce videos for a variety of purposes. To get started you need:
1: a green sheet for a background
2 an iPad with the app Green Screen by Doink.
Once you have these, the following links will help get you on the path to creating a green screen masterpiece!

Tutorials:
A good tutorial is available as part of the Doink app. You can actually look at the video layers and get an idea how their sample project was put together. The video portion is also here.
Link to our original Adventures in Green Screen Video. We (Dayle and Eric) actually made this video a few years ago to introduce green screen technology to teachers and students.

Also check out kidpix on the lab computers! You can create very useful backgrounds and animations fairy easily. The best (but not only) way to get them onto the iPad is the photoSync app. once on the iPad camera roll, they can be imported into your project.
Helpful tips:
1 Avoid shooting video directly from the Doink app. Instead record the clips onto your camera roll and import them into the project.
2. Don't make your entire video in the doink video timeline, it isn't a great editor. Instead save your green screen clips to the iPad camera roll for use in iMovie.
